Maximum authorised mass (MAM)
The MAM (MTM in Dutch) is the highest total weight the car may have, with fuel, driver, passengers and a full load, as set by the manufacturer. Small cars have a low MAM, big cars a higher one. Overloading the car breaks the safety rules. With a B licence you may drive vehicles with an MAM of up to 3,500 kg.
